Four Irish Boys, Out of Control

Last year I posted my fervent wish that U2 would put their classic Out of Control back into their set list for this summer’s 360 Tour.

Guess what we heard in New Jersey last month?

To say I “lost my shit” would be a SERIOUS understatement to the full bodied, complete emotional, physical and mental seizure of absolute joy and delirium I experienced as they played this song! Thank god the people next to us had left, because my Epic Freakout may have injured them!

This was my mom and my last 360 show and it came nearly two years to the day, of our first 360 show in Dublin. So it was absolutely amazing to hear that song live again to close our “musical journey” (as Larry Mullen Jr. would say!) together with our favorite Irish lads.

As my awesome mama so eloquently put it:

There are no bad U2 shows, there are only varying degrees of

GREAT U2 shows

  1. I can’t even with this video…I watched it and was like “Did they really play this?!” I think because I was so out of body that I was there hearing it! I got to hear it for the first time in Chicago but it meant a lot more in NJ because it was my hometown show and I knew you and your mom were there totally basking in the moment too 🙂 A bitch would have been choked if someone ruined this song for me. I would have got arrested for U2, no doubt about it. And I’m so happy there was a perfect Irish ribbon tied in a lovely bow to wrap up your musical journey!

I hope that now that it’s received so much positive feedback from the fans, that they’ll consider bringing more older material out for shows. Or even never played live songs. Larry, can you please put in a request for “Window in the Skies” for me?!
