Flowers Friday: Turn on the red light edition

In LA the other night Brandon Flowers continued his tradition of singing covers of bands I love at shows I’m not at. Witness Roxanne WITH Police guitarist Andy Summers:

He also did The Beatles in Liverpool. I thought for sure he would do Duran Duran at our Birmingham show but he DID NOT. He even knows Planet Earth for godssakes!!

I’m trying not to be a greedy bitch since I’m seeing so many shows – but given the fact that I CAN’T AFFORD CHRISTMAS NOW because of his tour, the least he can do is give me a good U2 cover or special guest or something 😉

BTW Andy Summers was a crush of my mom’s back in the day (that “day” being “the early 80’s”!) We nicknamed him OmegaMan after the song by The Police. So she was quite excited to hear that he’d popped up on Brandon’s stage.

  1. OH MY!!! W A Y better than THE POLICE version!! His voice is strong without a microphone and it sounds even better now! OMEGAMAN looks great, though a bit jowly!! ANd a solo!!! He better let Dave have more guitar solo time or there’ll be hell to pay!
    Interesting vest!
    GREAT outfit!
Does he have a dresser on stage???

  2. I’m actually going to visit Santa in a few weeks with my friend and her baby to get photos done. So when I sit on his lap I’m going to say “I’m a broke ass bitch this Xmas so if you could hook me up with a special guest appearance at the following Brandon Flowers shows, that would be a holiday delight.”

If I was there I would have been like “Brandon you don’t care if it’s wrong or if it’s right when you sweat like a sex monster on stage!”
