Post about signs

I’ve been lucky enough to go to Europe two years in a row. I tend to take a lot of pictures of signs that amuse me.

In Ireland the signs are kind of just suggestions:

Don't ya be drivin' off the wall now!

Good advice in general!

In England I found their signs are just very – literal. There’s not a lot of big fancy words cluttering up the meaning of something. What it says is what you get:

Who needs flavors anyway?

Meet me at the News & Booze, 7 sharp!

Kathryn says she’s never noticed this before. But since I couldn’t stop pointing and giggling at pub signs like Pie and Ale £2 she now is seeing it and the other day sent me a photo of a bottle of Radiator Stop Leak. As she says, “why waste words?” Why indeed!

  1. This is awesome!! Especially the last one! Sounds like my kind of hang out spot! 😀

  2. I love this! American signs are so boring compared to these. News and Booze is the best. One place where I can get my paper AND Patron? I’m so there!

  3. True that. ‘Nuff said.
