Flowers Friday: God sent his angel edition

Last month Brandon Flowers performed in Dublin. Did I want to be there? Hell yes. Did I go? No, because I am going to see him in England next week, one can’t be greedy 😉

But then I saw this clip of him doing U2’s If God Will Send his Angels and I basically wanted to hurl myself off a bridge for missing HIM singing THIS song, in THAT city:

I absolutely love this arrangement and that he took a quieter song out of the immense U2 repertoire (from their most critically slammed album Pop which is actually quite a good album – except for Miami :-p) and did a really lovely cover on their home turf. Around 2:55 he even hits a note that would make Bono proud.

It seems the audience didn’t really know this song (and they call themselves Irish??!) which hurt my heart. If Jill and I had been there it would have been Tears and Hyperventilation City!

  1. You know how I feel about this the meeting of my two fav things Brandon U2 – heaven, fingers crossed for the 18th x This song in particular is special as it reminds me of when a very dear friend of mine Annette died after having a baby, her little girl is 13 now and so beautiful x

  2. Someone would have had to call a medic, we might have trampled some people, etc. I know after it I would have yelled “Do ‘In a Little While’!!!!” I can’t wait to see when our train will indeed stop at “Tears and Hyperventilation City” 😉

Can’t stop listening to it. Soooo good. He definitely would have made Bono and BG proud!

  3. This is the most beautiful performance he’s ever done. Ever. It’s so perfect and beautiful… and so heartfelt!!! I could watch it over and over again I swear. =]
