I just watched A Single Man starring Oscar nominated Colin Firth as a gay man in 1960’s Los Angeles struggling with his grief over the death of his partner, played by the lovely Matthew Goode in flashbacks.
Colin is great, Tom Ford directed so the sets and clothes and everything are just pretty pretty pretty.
But nothing is as pretty as THIS GUY though:
This would be Nicholas Hoult. He plays Kenny, a student of Colin’s George Falconer who takes a shine to the heartbroken Professor and – well – he basically stalks him (my kinda boy!) Kenny’s moves include asking the department secretary for George’s address, wooing him with a pencil sharpener, then lurking outside his house snapping branches and following him into a bar where he then proposes that they go skinny dip in the Pacific in the middle of the night.
Um – cute boys never do this to ME! Does one have to be a suicidal middle-aged gay man to get this kind of attention??!
So when this movie came out last year Nicholas got a lot of press because he was sweet, heartbreaking little Marcus in the wonderful About a Boy when he was little, and now he was all growed up and quite hot. As I was watching the movie I remembered he was in the show Skins that aired on BBCAmerica (a channel I do not watch nearly enough!) I think it had something to do with raunchy British teens which means I am PUTTING IT ON THE NETFLIX QUEUE RIGHT NOW!!
(I must credit Blogger Pal Julie for the always – at least to us – entertaining This Guy!)
