After that one mention, I started getting a lot of traffic here looking for it so I did some research:
I managed to make some headway with PR at Ali Hewson’s (i.e. Mrs. Bono) clothing company Edun:
I even went to U2’s management office when I was in NYC to see if there was anyone there interested in a marketing opportunity:
The lovely Bridget at Edun was kind enough to respond to my email in which I told her of all the people looking for the shirt and things looked hopeful:
Then Larry had to go wear this shirt at the Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame concert on HBO and I started getting searches here for that shirt as well:
Then a few weeks ago the concert that started all this insanity was released on DVD and suddenly the traffic started flooding in again. So I took a tally of how many hits all these posts had garnered and contacted Edun one more time to update on the nearly 2,500 searches for these shirts that had come to this blog.
Bridget very nicely let me know that Edun will not be producing the shirt (nor will anyone else I assume, being that the design is owned by U2’s stylist who I would think would give first dibs to her employers before marketing elsewhere) and that “…it only lives on as a one of a kind.” Ahhh just like Mr. Mullen himself!
So there it is folks – take a nice look and either get crafty yourselves (and if you do – please let me know!) or kiss it goodbye. And thank you to Larry and this shirt for pretty much kickstarting this blog into high gear.
