The Vampire Diaries: Founder’s Day Kicked Ass!

So yeah – the Liveblogging experiment didn’t work so well. Partially I blame the software which only lets you embed in a post if you are self-hosting a WP blog (which we aren’t.) The rest is that it is too hard to keep up with watching and commenting – especially when everything is happening so damn quickly!

I’m going to leave the recapping to Julie because she’s great at it (and she’ll have hot pics and gifs aplenty!) But I will say this: That was a fucking awesome season. Not one episode was a wasted – that’s a rare feat in any show, but especially in a first season. Every week I waited anxiously for it to not be as great as the previous week and not only did that never happen – it got better each week.

In particular these last episodes since the hiatus were wham bam thank you Salvatore Brothers from start to finish. Every single hour. Somehow a show that should be so easy to spot plot twists – came up with shocks and surprises at every turn. With 20 minutes to go tonight – and with a whole mess of fires, explosions, car crashes, staking, and brotherly warring over a girl behind them – they still gave an incredible HOLY SHIT DID THAT JUST HAPPEN?!?!! final 10 minutes.

Look! They’re even pretty with shirts ON! And let’s hear it for a teen girl heroine with some backbone! **Clap! Clap! Whistle! Cheer!**

Also I have to give a shout-out to my most amazing girl Jill. I came home today to a box of Damon Salvatore BROWNIES to enjoy for my finale viewing pleasure! Let me just say if you saw these – you’ll get the picture (minus feathers and flowers of course! Vampire TVBoyfriends aren’t so snappy!)
