she liked Imaginary Men best of all

Oh boys, I love you BOTH in that shirt!

Brandon Flowers recycles a lot of his “civilian clothes”. That’s right kids, when he’s not on-stage he doesn’t wear feathers or rhinestone toed boots or cheetah print jackets.

He actually wears about the same couple of things – one of which is this green shirt with little snap things on the front. I have half a dozen pics of him in this shirt – either in photo shoots or “off-duty” fan shots.

So imagine my surprise when a few weeks ago I was digging through my Big Box o’U2 and found this photo of Larry Mullen Jr. in a 2005 calendar:

So not exactly the same – but pretty damn close! Brandon’s photo is dated 2008 so we know who the trendsetter was for this particular style of shirt!

Advantage: Mullen

Don’t expect Pretty Boy Flowers to take that sitting down (which, BTW, is my made-up Old Timey Mobster name for him!)

  1. Pretty Boy Flowers is such a good mobster name for him, because if he ever held up a Luv It, the news headline would be awesome. “PRETTY BOY FLOWERS STRIKES ANOTHER LUV IT; DEMANDS SUNDAES WITH EXTRA TOPPINGS BUT IS REALLY POLITE WHILE DOING IT”

Because he would totally be such a sweet mobster!

And I can’t wait for the episode of BG/LG when Larry discovers the box of pictures of himself under Bran’s bed with certain articles of clothing circled with “Must find this item” written next to it. If Bran ends up getting a version of the Scorpion shirt, I’ll DIE!!!

  2. Ha! Hilarious! Now I want you to find a pic of Joel wearing a purple hoodie. It could happen!

Pretty Boy Flowers is a perfect old-timey name for him, he is just sooo purty! Oooh gansters and molls fantasy! Mmmm
