A week later and folks are still coming here looking for this shirt! (I’m even getting searches in other languages now.) I have not given up my campaign to make it available to us non-rock-stars, I just have had no time to fire off my emails to various places I think may give us what we want.
I did do some legwork while in the city though – I went to Principle Management in Manhattan! In the elevator to their floor the gentleman riding with me chatted about Halloween and asked what I was going as. When I said a Merlotte’s waitress from True Blood he asked me – as he exited the elevator: “vampire or victim?” which is eerily close to the lyric in Stay (Faraway, So Close!): “a vampire / or a victim / it depends on who’s around.” Freaky!
They don’t let you even inside the locked door without an appointment or proposal in hand, but I did get a phone number to call so I can get a name of whom to contact to make my pitch.
This was what I saw of PM:
So on my list to contact are PM, Edun and One. I’ve already bugged the PR person at Edun and One is doing a t-shirt contest actually so I’ll see who I can find there. Folks at @U2.com seem to be looking as well so if anyone there wants to be in touch and combine campaigns – the more Scorpions haranguing for Larry shirts, the better!
Here’s the whole sordid tale for those of you playing at home:
