“For love or money, money, money…”

This summer my mom and I gathered all our U2 concert ticket stubs so we could determine how many shows we’ve seen in our 26 years of fandom.

Luckily we both had the stubs to our very first show in 1985 for The Unforgettable Fire tour. Take a look at what it cost to see U2 then:

U2 Ticket 1985-1

$13.50!!! Notice there isn’t $75 of TicketBastard fees either! The Joshua Tree tickets were $19 and I guarantee you that in 1987 we bitched about how pricey they were. I won’t even tell you what we paid this summer in Euros to see them in Dublin.

Sometimes I feel like making a banner to take to a show that says “Bono how about a ride in the private jet I BOUGHT YOU??

  1. holy crap i wasn’t even born at the time of that concert!! i came into the world 3 months later, and sadly my mother’s water broke at home and not at a U2 concert-oh well ;P

    • Well you give me hope for your generation! I also realized at one point in one of our conversations, that you were born AFTER Live Aid! Way to make me feel OLD Sister Obsessive!
