I need an “entertainment vacation”

Is it appropriate to ask for a week off of work so you can catch up on magazines and DVR? How about if you just got back from half a week off and another half a week home sick?

Because I am seriously behind in all areas of my entertainment life: TV, magazines, blogs. You name it, I haven’t done it. I have 4 issues of Entertainment Weekly to read, I’m a week behind on the DVR (Glee, Fringe, How I Met Your Mother, The Big Bang Theory and Castle are all tapping their collective feet at me – especially Sheldon), and I’m skimming over my regular entertainment news sites without clicking to read.

Partly the issue is being social – last night and tonight I was on the phone with friends, also got involved in a chat tonight. Tomorrow I go to the movies. And I was away for the weekend so those are all good excuses. Still I get stressed when I feel “out of the loop” on entertainment crap. What if Tom Cruise does something really stupid and I miss it??

Dammit and I forgot the new Melrose Place was on tonight! Why don’t they put that and the new 90210 on Wednesdays back where they belong so I will remember to watch them?

  1. I totally understand! I don’t have TIME for a personal life because my entertainment life is so time consuming!
