Can’t take my eyes off of you

I am on Week 2 of my “Brandon Flowers is Pretty Hot for a Mormon” obsession. I’ve been a little distracted this week with getting ready for the Emmy’s and the next U2 show, but it is still in full swing. The Killers are the only thing “Now Playing” as my iPhone likes to tell me, and I won’t even go into the shenanigans at YouTube.

Some reasons I find Brandon so dreamy:

  1. He has an incredible voice
  2. He had the same 80’s record collection as I did: moody British bands with pop-tastic melodies (New Order, Pet Shop Boys, Echo and the Bunnymen)
  3. He writes lyrics like Candy apple red dress, bleeding when she kissed me that remind me of Cherry ice cream smile, I suppose it’s very nice
  4. He sounds like a pretty shady Mormon: drinks, gambles, curses, wears “guyliner”, sings songs about deadly ways to deal with unfaithful girlfriends
  5. He is currently sporting my 14-year-old-self’s image of The Perfect Look: short spiky hair, black clothes and combat boots
  6. He does covers of “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun”, “One Night in Bangkok” and “Bring on the Dancing Horses”
  7. He hates John Mayer
  8. He thinks artists should stick to one thing – sing if you’re in a band, act if you’re an actor – don’t dilettante around in everything just because you’re famous and you think you can (see future post/rant on this very topic)
  9. He gives a looks-like-a-Bad-Boy-but-is-actually-a-Good-Boy vibe
  10. He sings the hell out of this song while wearing a kick-ass belt buckle

  2. Heh. He gets a pass bc you love him so much. But if he starts designing handbags or gets his own fragrance I rescind my pass!

  3. “He thinks artists should stick to one thing – sing if you’re in a band, act if you’re an actor – don’t dilettante around in everything just because you’re famous and you think you can (see future post/rant on this very topic).”

Don’t make me out you re: our 2000 jaunt to Texas. *grin*
